It's a choice
to drink...
It's a choice
to drive...
Everyone knows
it's illegal...
It's a deliberate criminal act!

The Quinte Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving recently presented their Community Hero Award to Breanne and Shaun Hadley of Belleville.
Last June the brother and sister were tavelling to Picton when they spotted an impaired driver. They immediately dialed 911 and reported the driver to police. The driver forced 15 vehicles off the road before being stopped by police. The Hadleys remained on the phone for several minutes and provided crucial information to police. Without their assistance the driver would have eventually killed an inocent person.
The award was presented to Breanne and Shaun by MADD Quinte President Cst. Doug Norman.

Troy was presented his award in February 2009 by MADD Quinte President Kerri Jianopoulos and Cst Doug Norman."
Project Red Ribbon encourages people to tie a red ribbon on their vehicle to show their support of stopping impaired driving.
MADD Quinte encourages people to light a candle over the holiday season to remember those who have been injured or killed by an impaired driver.
Red candles and ribbons are available at MADD sittings and some R.I.D.E. checks throughout the Quinte area during the holiday season.
